OFFICER’S PRISON. - Yesterday afternoon the commissioned
Yankee officers confined in the Libby prison Twentieth and Cary streets, were
removed therefrom to the new quarters expressly prepared for them, on Eighteenth
street, near Main. The prisoners formed quite a respectable and select company,
and numbered one hundred and twenty five in all, including majors,
colonels, captains and lieutenants. At five o’clock, A. M., the whole number
of prisoners received fell a trifle short of five thousand.
