From the Richmond Whig, 4/18/1865
DELIVERED THEMSELVES UP. – Yesterday morning a number of
Confederate officials and soldiers, foot-sore, weary and dispirited, came into
Richmond and delivered themselves up to the military authorities. Among them was
Capt. Callahan, late commandant of Castle Thunder post; Edward Folkes,
detective; Mr. Timberlake, clerk at the Castle, and other small fry officials.
They were consigned to the Libby.
