PRESIDENTíS LEVEE. - The rain of Saturday continued to
trickle, pour, and drip, until a late hour of the night, and (we regret to have
to record the shameful fact,) the streets were not gas-lighted, as we had been
led to suppose. Yet, despite these drawbacks, crowds of citizens and sojourners,
repaired to the Presidentís House to pay their respects to the Chief Magistrate.
