The rebel Gen. Winder, the infamous keeper of the Richmond prisons, is dead. He was a native of Baltimore, and was educated at West Point. At the breaking out of the rebellion he joined the rebels, and has almost constantly been in Richmond as superintendent of prisoners. His harshness and brutality to Union officers and soldiers under his charge has covered his name with an infamy that will not soon be forgotten. He was 65 years of age.
