MAYOR'S COURT - Monday, July 18, 1864 - .....John J.
Lindsay, charged with fraudulently and by false pretences obtaining from Messrs.
Brown & Dean, commission merchants, forty one bushels of potatoes and forty
pounds of butter, valued in the aggregate at one thousand two hundred and eleven
dollars, under the pretence that he was acting as the agent of the Chimborazo
hospital, and whose case was continued until to day, appeared, and having
furnished proof that he was or had been the agent of the hospital, was
discharged without further enquiry into the case.
