From the Richmond Examiner, 10/5/1863

DEATH OF A FEDERAL OFFICER. Captain Gleason, of the Fifth Maryland (Yankee) regiment, taken prisoner with most of his command at the last capture of Winchester, died at the Libby on Friday. His disease was consumption.

Captain Gleason was a native of Baltimore, and his body will probably be forwarded to that city by flag of truce.
