From the Richmond Examiner, Monday, 7/21/1862, p. 2

THE HOSPITALS. - It gratifies us to hear that the more secluded and unpretending of the hospitals are not suffering for attention at the expense of the more pretentious and conspicuous, but all are being supplied alike as far as it lies in the power of the sympathizing and benevolent to attend them. The Howard Hospital, Dr. Fox surgeon, is one of these. - The ladies have been very kind and marked in their attention to the wants of the wounded. The hospital is located in Atkinsonís factory, east Main street.
