CANNON SEIZED. – One or two of the large cannon made by Dr.
Archer at Bellona Arsenal, and which have been for several weeks laying on the
basin bank, have been spiked by some Yankee spy hovering about the city.
This circumstance will, we hope, impress upon the
authorities the necessity of either having the guns placed out of all danger of
being spiked, or else have them regularly guarded.
