From the Richmond Dispatch, 5/17/1864
Refused to do Militia Duty. - A number of the foreigners arrested by
the Provost Guards yesterday have refused to do military duty, and have in
consequence been committed to Castle Thunder. One fellow, a German, named Antone
Cremarg, resisted officer Jones, of the detective police, and the women of
Cremarg's family made a tremendous assault upon the officer, who, however,
succeeded in bringing off the unwilling militiaman.
