From the Richmond Dispatch, 7/14/1862

To be sent home. – A list of the Yankee Surgeons now here has been made preparatory to their being sent home. This will be done during the present week. There are twenty surgeons in attendance on the Yankee wounded at Savage’s Station alone. These are not included in the list to go home; only those are embraced who may be in this city. All of them who may desire to stay with their wounded men will be permitted to do so.
