From the Richmond Dispatch, 5/22/1862, p. 2, c. 4

Caution to Bogus Officers. – Assistant Provost Marshal Alexander visited the American Hotel late Sunday night, and arrested a young gentleman who has been sporting a uniform for some time without having the slightest right to do so. He is a deserter from his regiment, and now awaits his trial in Castle Godwin. On the strength of his uniform he had succeeded in getting married.
