A post-war stereoview of this image declares on it's backmark that this image
was taken August 23, 1863. Sandra V. Parker, in her book, Richmond's Civil
War Prisons, declares that the four figures in the right foreground are:
William D. Turner (son of Richard Turner), Erasmus Ross (prison clerk), Richard
Turner (jailer), and Thomas P. Turner (commandant). See below for a close-up of
these figures.
