Genl Hospl No. 27
1st It shall be required of all patients
entering this Hospital that they be thoroughly washed and their clothing changed
if practicable.
2nd It shall be he duty of all patients to be at their beds
in the morning at 9 o'clock and in the evening at 5 o'clock when the Surgeon
will visit and prescribe for them and at such other times as the cases under
treatment may require.
3rd It shall be the duty of the Ward Master to see that the
nurses administer the medicines at the times directed, that the beds are neatly
spread & the wards are swept daily before 7 o’clock AM and if necessary at
3 o’clock PM.
4th The floors must be washed out with soap
& water every Saturday morning and at such other times with water alone as
may be deemed necessary, spittoons cleaned every morning.
5th The bed clothing must be changed every
Sunday morning before
8 o’clock
and oftener if required. No one will be allowed to lie on the beds with shoes
on those unoccupied.
6th Patients confined to bed must be served with
meals half an hour before the convalescents are served at table. Hours Breakfast
8 o’clock
, Dinner
1 o’clock
, Supper
6 o’clock
.
The Surgeon in Charge is almost constantly present and
gives his personal attention to the execution of the written rules and such
other as he may think proper at the time.
